Urethane Foam Consultants (UFC) was established in 2012 to provide the spray foam insulation industry with the highest level of certification, inspection and quality assurance services. To accomplish this, UFC has developed and implemented a site quality assurance program (SQAP) that complies with current and emerging industry standards. Our programs have achieved ISO/IEC 17024 accreditation as a personnel certification body and ISO/IEC 17020 accreditation as an inspection body.
The UFC Site Quality Assurance Program (SQAP) is uniquely positioned in the foam insulation industry to provide manufacturers of spray foam materials the highest assurance of quality, as well as being prepared for upcoming changes to the building code.
The UFC SQAP has been created to reflect CAN/ULC S705.2 requirements and has been accepted by CCMC. In this role, UFC operates as an independent, third-party Certification Organization (CO) with a mandate to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for installers, contracts, distributors and manufacturers. At each level, UFC will ensure training measures, documentation requirements and quality procedures are in place.

The training, evaluation and certification of foam installers is the heart of the UFC Site Quality Assurance Program (SQAP). As part of the program, UFC staff will verify the content and scope of the manufacturer training programs to ensure content and accuracy. Manufacturer training will also include manufacturer/material-specific content in the course where applicable (spray temperatures, storage requirements, etc.).
Please contact us to schedule your attendance at one of the training dates listed above. Should you not find a date or location that is convenient, let us know and we will work with our manufacturers to make arrangements convenient for you. Training courses typically take place over 3 days, with the UFC evaluation on the last day. Installers are required to bring all required PPE for the evaluation.
As a CCMC-recognized Certification Organization (CO), UFC is mandated to work on behalf of all parties involved with the application of spray foam insulation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements as well as maintaining industry best practices. Urethane Foam Consultants acts as an intermediary in the event of a complaint or failure in the field. UFC will provide a third-party assessment of spray foam installation and can oversee remediation where required.
